I'm Never Going there Again!

That's what River said when we left the zoo. I swear she was having fun while we where there. We got the girls ice cream cones, petted the mama giraffe, saw a baby elephant and even rode the zoo train. What's not to like? River is just melodramatic. When I asked her what her favorite animal was she said, in a very grown up voice, "None of them!"

I love this picture of River and Cameron. You can see how much River adores her daddy.

And sweet Sariah. Over the last few months she has really lightened up, (though in this picture you can't really tell, lol!) she laughs and talks and sings. She says GaMa, Mama, Dada, Biber (which is River), more, boo, hot, and moo. And she loves to do the hand actions to "one little monkey, swinging in a tree..." Perfect at the zoo!

This is a table I picked up at the thrift store and painted. I wish I had the before picture, but it was brown with a big coffee-mug stain on it. Now it's wonderfully turquoise. Or to me it's wonderful. I have an obsession with turquoise lately. What can you do? Cameron is worried everything in our house will end up lime green or turquoise. I think he might be right to worry! ;)

What the Fish?!

We went fishing with my family at Six Lakes over the 4th of July weekend. With the help of Papa Brent, River caught 3 fish. She was so excited when she reeled them out of the water. She kept marching around saying "What the fish?!"
Her pants got soaked, so my mom fashioned some overalls for her by turning a hoodie upside down and using the arms for legs. I thought River look like an adorable version of Huck Finn. We did have to tighten the strings every once-in-a-while....Cameron snagged a crawdad for Sariah and River to look at. Pretty cool.

It rained on us a bit, but Sariah was prepared with her camo jacket Papa bought for her. She had a great time hanging out with grandma next to the lake, eating strawberries and throwing rocks.
Thanks for the great time everyone!

Our Family Pictures

Finally a family picture with all 4 of us! I was worried about these pictures. River ran through the sprinklers a half hour before we were supposed to leave and her curlers got soaked. Sariah had a cold and cryed the whole way to Salt Lake. I had a huge zit on my chin. And well, Cameron was riled up that we were missing the family BBQ. Despite the odds, I'm pretty happy with the way these turned out! Thank you Katrina from RedBean Photography! To see more of our pictures, go to the link above and enter Katrina's blog. The pics weren't coming up when I checked them, but just click on the icon and it will take you to her flicker page where you can see more pictures!

What a Month...

This spring it seems like we have been doing nothing but yard work and gardening, yard work and gardening. The grass was completly dead when we bought our house, so we've been trying to green it up. I'm learning to love working out in the yard, not to mention how much River and Sariah love playing outside.

This is our lovely little garden patch! Joy! Tonight we ate the first radishes out of the garden...heaven I say!

We did take a break from the yard to go to Melanie's graduation at USU. Who doesn't love the spot where the sage brush grows? We love Melanie so we where really excited for her. Isn't this picture of Ty and Mel adorable? The crazy family.

This is River and Tacey, Melanie's littlest sister. River and Tacey are the same age and and they LOVE each other. They could seriously be twins, don't you think? River kept thinking Tacey's name was Feisty. "Mom, where's Feisty?"

And lastly, this is my kids favorite hangout, in the bottom of the pantry amongst the milk jugs waiting to be recycled. They fight over who gets to sit in there.

So cool, right!? Ba ha.

Christine is an interior decorator who helps people with their design dilemmas and posts her ideas on her blog. I emailed her pictures of my kitchen and she came up with an adorable design for me! She does this for free. If you want to see what she came up with for my kitchen, head over to http://www.designwithchristine.com/2010/05/sheenas-kitchen.html and tell me what you think! Her blog also has tons of great design advise if you are like me and have LOTS of questions!

Baby Hendrix

While Cameron slaved away in the yard this weekend (we forgot when you buy a house you have to take care of the yard!) I took the girls to my cousin's baby shower. They named the baby Hendrix and he is a cutie. We got to have lots of fun with Grandma Giles too. I LOVE THIS PICTURE of her with the girls. These are all the great-grandkids. Hunter, River, Sariah, Halle, Abby and Hendrix. My parents came to visit our house for Sariah's birthday. Cam and I had to speak in church that weekend, so it was perfect timing. My mom had to spend the whole time out in the hall, because Sariah kept trying to walk up to the pulpit.

Sweet Sariah Turned One Today!

One year ago...

Today!!!
Sariah turned one year old today! I must gush about how much we love and adore her, because it's true. We LOVE her! Sariah is toddling around, with only two bottom teeth, saying "Mamama" and "Dada da da." She loves stairs, doggies, bread and being outside. When ever she sees a dog she gets REALLY excited, stomps her feet, bounces up and down, points and says 'oh! oh! dogga! dogga!" She's really starting to understand the things we say and is really interested in learning sign language. She signs light, more, cheese, drink, bird, and hat. Tonight we were having pizza for dinner and River was saying, "It's pizza, Sariah. Pizza. PIZZA!" when, I swear, Sariah opened her mouth and said "Pi ZA." It was so cute! Now Cameron wants to tell people that pizza was her first word! I think she's already said 'doggy' and 'baby', but it's hard to say. Sariah loves to play 'chase' where she leaves the room, even though she knows she's not supposed to, until you chase her and she crawls away faster and faster laughing, until she collapses because she can't go any faster. It's so funny. If you say 'Kiss' she gives you a kiss, if you say "hi five" she'll give you a high five. I love this age!

We celebrated Sariah's big day by having cake and icecream with some family and friends at the park. Thanks for coming everyone!

Snowy Easter

We had a great Easter! Ty, Blake, Mom and Dad all came to stay with us over the weekend. We dyed eggs, listened to conference , and painted the snow. Yes, snow. We have tons of snow so all the egg hunting was inside. I've been trying to get River to understand why we celebrate Easter, but I'm not sure how much sunk in... River's prayer at dinner: "Thank thee that Jesus could bring us Easter Eggs."
