What if the Circulation Bell Starts Ringing?

We decided to put River in a dance class this year.  I was a bit skeptical, having hated dance myself when I was her age, ( I was super shy) but she likes it.  Also, low and behold, River's class gets to dance "Seize the Day" from Newsies, my favorite musical EVER.
River's favorite part is  "Proud and defiant, we'll slay the giant!  Let us seize the day!"  (if you know the music, this is where you sponaneously burst into song)  Because they get to do mock sword-fighting.  Dancing and slaying things go together, right?

Ballerina Sariah.
She can't wait to turn three so she can "go to stool when I'm three, momma?"  "I get to dance when I turn three too!"

This is just a random picture of the kids playing in the garage with a friend.  I love it when they play pretend!

Off to Preschool

River was so excited for preschool to start up this year.  She picked this VERY special outfit to wear the first day, so of course Sariah had to put on a dress and legwarmers too!

Random Summer Fun

THE ZOO
River and Sariah loved the zoo this year.  They REALLY loved the dinosaur robots.....even though they were a little scary at first.  I think the girls are pretending to be dinosaurs in the first picture.

 HILL AIRFORCE MUSEUM

SWIMMING LESSONS
River had a great time at swimming lessons this year and practically has gills behind her ears now.  I'd say it was the best two weeks of summer for the kids.  We stayed late at the pool every day, ate packed lunches and relaxed with friends.

Two random pictures, but cute none-the-less.  By the way, never get the Cowboy and Octopus books.  So dumb!

Bear Lake Adventures

Sunny skies, clear blue water, sandy beaches and lime-raspberry shakes.  Heaven on earth I tell you!  We went to Bear Lake on Memorial Day with Cameron's brother Cory and his adorable family.  I think we need to make it an annual tradition...it was sooooo great.  The kids swam, collected seashells and built sandcastles.  I used a shovel to craft a little wading pool for Sariah to play in because she was scared of the waves the boats made when they passed.

Sariah finally conked out after lunch and took a nap with Daddy in the shade.  It was good too because she was getting fried even though she had on SPF, like, one thousand.

The wading pool.

Aftynn and River are now bosom buddies for life!  They had a blast exploring together.

Oh, Bear Lake, how I pine for you!

More of the 4th

We went to a REAL SALT LAKE GAME (with Cameron's parents and his brother Randy and fiance Annie) after the 4th of July Parade.  It was fun, River was excited to see the soccer players because she started soccer this year.  They had fireworks after the game too.  On the way home that night, there were fireworks going off all over the valley.  It looked amazing.
