She Walks!

Sariah took her first steps today after church. She walked 5 or 6 steps from Cameron's arms into mine. Yay Sariah! We had a hard time getting her to walk on video, because she wouldn't walk to River, but hopefully you can still see her mad balancing skills! ;)

And River's big acheivement lately: She learned to button her own buttons! She is so happy and proud of herself.

Besides walking and buttoning River and Sariah are starting to play together a bit, which is so sweet and fun. On the other hand they are getting jealous of each other's time with Mom and Dad, so we try to give them both enough attention. I often end up with both of them on my lap, reading two different books at the same time. That way Sariah can flip through the pages as fast as she wants, and River can listen to the story!

Love this picture of Cameron. His co-workers call this the 'lifesaver sweater'.

Sewing is Hard, Painting is Fun

Yeah, I made this apron for my niece's bridal shower. It was hard, but I conquered my fear of sewing. I mean, it actually looks half decent!Other projects I've completed recently are a clock and mirror I found at the thrift store. I cleaned up the clock and painted the background and frame black. I think it looks much more sleek and modern, and I love how the trees stand out now.I painted and distressed this mirror for our hallway. I want to put a thin green ribbon around the flower pot. How do you feel about the mirror? Be honest, you won't hurt my feelings! Too turquoise? Is it a weird shape, or do you like it?

Cameron's Birthday

A quick recap of Cameron's birthday.
First, River and I sent Cameron on a treasure hunt to find his present, which are tickets a U2 concert in June. (so excited)
Second, we blew out candles and ate Cameron's favorite dinner, homemade chicken enchiladas.
Third, we left River with her cousins and headed to a Jazz game.

Hope you had a happy birthday Cam!
