Sing-a-ling
Thanks, Mom, for the adorable pictures of River. There are more cute poses that everyone will be getting when I mail out Cameron's graduation announcements. You'll just have to wait, sorry!
River 'reading' to herself while I catch some shut-eye on the couch. I guess Cameron thought he would be sneaky and get some secret footage.

Crochet, Food Edition
And mini apples. I really really want to make these....aren't they fabulous?! But I can't seem to justify it because I wouldn't actually use them for any specific purpose. Maybe River would play with them...
Or there is this delicious pattern. I'm sure it is just the thing the you've always wanted. A toast purse. And now you can crochet your very own! Looking at this is making me hungry. And reminding me of all the toast and spray -butter I during at college.
This next pattern may actually be useful.
Dressing up for the next Harry Potter film? These yarn radishes would be perfect to use for a Luna Lovegood costume, which isn't complete without her famous radish (or to be precise, dirigible plum) earrings. Though I think they are orange in the book.
And for the man in your life, fried-egg cuffs. This pattern comes for a great site called MonsterCrochet. It has wonderful patterns for things like a Golum hat and spooky severed fingers.
For more fun crochet ideas click the 'Crochet Pattern Central' link in the sidebar of this blog.
Thanks for tuning in.

Easter Fun
We went to a Easter party complete with egg-hunting, brunch and lots of excited kids. River managed to get 4 easter eggs before all the older kids snatched them up.

It's Supposed to be the 2nd Day of Spring :(
Here are a few words that River likes to say now. My favorite one is 'happy', and she even seems to understand what it means, yet she won't even say 'mommy' anymore. Sigh.

Raptor Rapids!!!
This is the giant bucket-o-doom in the kiddie area. See the guy in the black shorts? That's Cameron holding River UNDER the BUCKET-O-DOOM! O-DOOM PEOPLE!
River and her friend Gabey. (The camera kind of fogged up...) They played ring-around-the-rosies in the water and ate crackers together like old chums. After we dried off and ate lunch, River found 'Daddy's hat' and ran around playing with it. Super-cute.

Cameron, Whom I Love
And notice how much River looks like him in this next picture. Practically identical as babies. So, just in case anyone was still thinking that she looks like me a smidgen, she doesn't.
Of course, it's not really 1985 without the neon-sweater and camo-pants combo.
Thankfully, Cameron's fashion vibe perfectly coincided with mine at the time and proves that we were always meant for each other. (Thanks Mom, for loving me enough to risk carpal-tunnel crimping my hair every day.)
This is my all-time favorite picture of Cameron during his high school years. The outfit! The one arm coolly slung over the steering wheel and the other proudly displaying his learners permit! The hair! The hair in this photo alone is worth enlarging it for a closer look. Due to the hair, I think this must've been the year Cameron got his infamous nickname of Dauber. (You know, the oafy jock off of the tv show 'Coach')
Sadly, Cameron joined the military after high school and was forced to cut off his hair. The good news is that he was stationed in Hawaii for three months right before his mission to England and soon earned another nickname. It waswait for it,
Pineapple Head. As you can see in the picture at the MTC below, his nickname pretty much spoke for itself. The bottom picture is after the mission president got a hold of him ;)

Such was the life of Cameron Mitchell White until he met his eternal companion and had a child of his own. What a great 29 years!

Happy Birthday Cameron!
